Daily Responsibilities:
•  Assist in the creation of analytic scope and work plan for ad hoc analysis and reporting projects
• Identify and extract relevant sources of bank data to employ in analytics – including financial data, sales data and customer data
•  Able to interrogate, profile and cleanse data for use in analytics
• Leverage deep understanding of business meaning behind our data to recognize patterns/trends/insight
• Convey insight to business partners and senior management to drive and develop bank strategy
• Assist in ongoing reporting for strategic initiatives and automate in Spotfire where ideal
• Create visually informative presentations in PowerPoint
•  Work proactively and collaboratively with key business partners to continuously enhance reporting
•   Interacting with all other analytics teams on the floor to learn about the data and find solutions ASAP (5+ different teams)
Must Have Skills:
•  Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Analytics or Business Intelligence – ability to analyze business problems and work around the problem independently, profile it and cleanse it as a precursor to analysis and even do the analysis themselves
• Understanding of analytical approaches and tools
•  Advanced computer skills in MS Excel (macros, Vlook-ups, data cleansing, pivot tables), Powerpoint
• Expert understanding of customer needs, trends and market dynamics (in relation to the customer data, sales, front-end staff trends)
• Knowledge of either SAS or SQL or related data/programming experience
•  Reporting and deck creation (Background in presentations, visualization and report creation)
•   Background in building analytical solutions based on business requirements
•   Strong Communication Skills
Nice to Have Skills:
•  University degree/ college diploma ideally in a Business or Computer Science or Economics background (not pure math)
• Experience working in the financial services industry
•Experience working in large matrix organizations
•Knowledge of Tableau, Spotfire or R Studio visualization packages
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize problems and clearly apply analytical techniques for evaluating large and complex data sources in order to make sound recommendations to business partners
