Our Client in the Banking and Finance Industry is seeking a Finance Governance Analyst for their Downtown Toronto office. This is a 18 months contract, with a possibility of an extension or permanency.
This individual will be responsible for Clarity project governance procedures to ensure that the data quality is correct (Create/close/update projects in Clarity system). They administer technology and service agreement for overall technology department.
The overall culture is fairly casual. The team sits together in an open office. It is a collaborative environment and everyone is willing to help. They handle issues as they come in. The team consist of about 25 people overall.

They would learn to support controls overall for the Clarity system. They would open and close project as requested. They are not simply opening and closing tickets but they have to understand the system controls. They would be able to work with one of the big 5 banks. This role is fundamental for the bank. This opportunity could potentially lead to FTE or opportunities within financial/IT roles that they could transition to.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
The Finance Governance Analyst is responsible for setup, control and governance activities related to the Clarity system (Banks book of record system for project and portfolio management). Duties include:
Opening and closing initiatives in Clarity
Process updates to the initiatives in the areas where PMs have no access
Answer questions regarding Clarity procedures and guidelines
Preparing Working Plan change templates for the CIO groups
Regular review and resolution of governance exceptions
Investigate system-related problems and inquiries and with a senior resource, recommend and coordinate solutions
Work with the Governance team to continually review and improve business processes and governance
TOP SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Possesses a university degree/college diploma in related field (Finance preferably)
Strong MS Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Demonstrates solid communication and interpersonal skills
Communicates easily with stakeholders in varying situations
Strong customer service orientation
Exhibits solid problem-solving and analytical skills
Able to handle multiple priorities
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
1 to 2 years progressive work experience in finance or project management disciplines
Previous systems control experience is an asset
Financial Services/Technology experience an asset
Knowledge of project management and system development life cycle an asset
