Our client in the Telco Industry is seeking a L1 Bilingual System Amin (Windows/Linux/NetBackup/SCOM), for their Montreal Office, for a 1 year contract.
 
Description
Reporting to the Chief of Administration, Systems Administration, the incumbent is responsible for performing support and delivery of systems administration related services for internal and external clients in outsourcing mode.
Level 1 systems administrators work in an Event Center that covers customer services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
• Monitor the internal and customer environments, using the tools put in place (Proactive). Also receive incident tickets from the various one-stop shops (“service desk”) available to customers (Reactive).
• Process and track incidents according to levels of customer service. Diagnose and resolve incidents while following established procedures, while documenting each action. Call on his N2 colleagues if needed.
• Process requests for services according to established procedures.
• Perform release tasks submitted by coordinating changes. (Application of patches, validations following activities, etc.).
• Perform daily backups validation tasks. Submit Levels 2 and 3 for critical errors and problems.
• Continually ensure the integrity of the data entered in the management tools and the various databases. Make the required changes so that everything reflects the customer environment.
• When required, act as a point of contact with the incident manager and / or other groups of operations. Be sure to follow the climbing procedures.
• Communicate information to colleagues and superiors.

Knowledge
• College degree in Computer Science with specialization in Windows or Unix / Linux Systems Administration or equivalent work experience.
• Two to three years of experience in insurance and / or delivery of services as a front line officer in systems administration.
• Knowledge of virtualization concepts
• SQL, IIS, NetBackup, EPO knowledge
• Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
• Knowledge in the following tools would be helpful; LEMSS, PatchLink, SCOM, Nimsoft, ect
