Our client in Financial Services Industry is seeking Network Administrator for Toronto location. This is a permanent position.

This position is responsible for network infrastructure administration and support including regular administrative functions. This position will monitor and optimize the network infrastructure performance.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Technology Infrastructure
• Maximize network performance by monitoring various systems and troubleshoot network issues and outages, schedules regular upgrades proactively
• Cisco Routers and Switches, QOS, Nexus 5k,7k, Catalyst 4500/6500 VSS, VPC, OTV & ACI
• Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls
• Network Security using Cisco ISE ( dot1x , profiling and posturing)
• F5 Technologies (GTM, LTM, APM, ASM)
• RAS / VPN infrastructures (TACACS, Radius, ACE Server); design and build
• VMware NSX
• Wireless: 802.11x wireless policy and security encryption
• Perform all system backups and recovery operations
• Provide support in working with internal IT teams and technology vendors to ensure all systems are available and secure on a 24 by 7 basis
• Provide support in the planning and undertaking of periodic risk analysis of systems and mitigate risks wherever possible.
• Provide support in the planning /testing of disaster recovery • Escalate complex system problems, as required
• Participate in after-hours on call support
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
• Ensure infrastructure security policies are implemented and maintained
• Support efforts in system security by ensuring compliance to security standards and policies, monitoring access privileges, conducting risk assessments, investigation of suspicious activities, and remediation of identified security threats or risks
• Work with Managed Service partner on all Firewall activities
Documentation & Reports
• Maintain hardware and software inventory
• Ensure infrastructure systems are documented according to approved standards
• Develop and ensure updates to technical and/or user documentation
• Provide monthly reports to management
• Document test cases and perform comprehensive testing during implementation and upgrades
• Research, develop and implement IT standards and best practice policies and procedures
Customer Service
• Provide customer focused service. Build positive and constructive relationships with business areas, customers, understand their needs, problems and provide timely communication and service.
• Partner with business to undertake full IT ownership of the systems and projects assigned and become proficient in the technical and functional aspects of these systems
• Provide technical support on projects. Successfully support tasks or projects as assigned
Change Management
• Follow change management and change control processes to plan and deploy system changes. Perform change-impact analysis
• Participate in weekly Change Management meetings
To succeed in this role, you:
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science
• Industry certifications in one or more of the following: Cisco Routing and Switching, wireless, Security
• Other certification (considered an asset): security, Data Center, ITIL v3
• Minimum of five years direct experience in a senior role focused on Cisco networking in medium to large enterprise networks
• Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of network infrastructure
• Hands on Experience in managing and deploying Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting tools (Solarwinds, Wireshark, efficient-ip and Cisco Prime )
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and teamwork
• Excellent communication and proven presentation skills
