MaxSys Staffing is currently looking for an experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator a client in Covedell, New Brunswick. Positions Summary: Reporting to the Site Manager, the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator will be responsible for: Major Responsibilities: Participating in the development, revision, and implementation of procedures and training initiatives in the realm of occupational health and safety; Supporting the implementation of the OHS program; Participating in the evolving health and safety culture in the workplace; Prioritizing and coordinating prevention activities; Supporting the director of health and safety during the latter’s projects; Promoting prevention, and encouraging the adoption of safe behaviours using communications and training or promotional activities; Participating in meetings of the OHS committees; Proceeding with investigations and analyses in the event of accidents or equipment breakage, and ensuring that corrective measures (incident report, investigation entries, monthly meeting) are implemented; Conducting monthly inspections; Monitoring and entering the relevant information in keeping with the calendar of requirements and compliance elements for health and safety; Training new employees upon their arrival; Identifying and analyzing occupational health and safety risks; Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment while complying with the standards, laws, and practices in effect; All other tasks relating to occupational health and safety Qualifications: Diploma of Collegial Studies in occupational health and safety, OHS certificate, or the equivalent; 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field; Experience in and knowledge of occupational health and safety, and the related laws; Keen organizational skills and ability to multitask; Independent; able to work in a fast and evolving environment; IT knowledge (Office suite); Excellent communication skills; Demonstrably persuasive; Responsible, attentive to detail To apply please contact Tara Stewart at: Phone: 902.444.3305 or fax resume to 902.444.3306 or respond to this ad with resume attached to apply.
