Our Client in the Banking and Finance Industry is seeking a Senior Project Manager for their Downtown Toronto office. This is a 6 months contract to start, possible extension OR Permanency
 
 
 
GROUP/PROJECT INFO:
Fundamental Review of Trading Book (FRTB) presents a comprehensive reform by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (“BCBS”) to create a new sensitivities-based market risk framework to determine and manage regulatory market risk capital for the Bank’s trading books.  The successful candidate will be responsible to plan, manage and deliver the Target Operating Model (TOM) and Process Architecture work stream.  The candidate should be a seasoned and polished individual with strong project management acumen and a good understanding of business architecture and process design practices in the context of Capital Markets (Risk Management and/or FRTB experience would be an asset).  The candidate should have a strong delivery background and must have the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time while delivering within schedule and budget. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the project plan and other PMLC deliverables as required by the program’s governance and BMO’s EPMO standards.

The TOM workstream will lead the business through unmapped territory to get it to its desired destination, while developing value-add relationships at senior levels in the organization.  The candidate will provide leadership, direction and coaching to teams(s) while partnering with business and executive stakeholders within a single or across multiple Lines of Business in Capital Markets/Enterprise Market Risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
• The successful candidate will primarily be accountable and responsible for the following project management tasks and deliverables for the TOM work stream:
• Create, track and manage the work stream plan, including dependencies and key milestones
• Create and update status reports for senior management and governance committees
• Ensure adequate resource availability and allocation
• Manage changes to project scope and budgets in accordance to established Change Request (CR) processes
• Identify, manage, and track the work stream’s risks, issues, assumptions and decisions and escalate items as required
• Adhere to Bank’s EPMO standards
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in business analysis activities, including:
• Define and document current state processes and identify potential areas of improvement
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design effective business processes and controls

TOP SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
• The candidate should have about 7-10+ years of experience as a PM/BA
• Extensive experience in capital markets and/or risk management is required
• Hands-on experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) and the end-to-end delivery of a Target Operating Model (TOM)
• Proficient in productivity tools, particularly Excel, Visio, & MS Project
• Previous Banking experience is considered an asset
• FRTB experience is considered a strong asset
