Our client in Mississauga is looking for an experienced systems administrator.

Reporting to Manager, Technical Services the Systems Administrator will represent 2nd Level Support for issues related to LAN systems and common LAN infrastructure, while implementing and supporting complex and innovative Server, Messaging, Network and Cloud environments to all corporate and branch environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Design, install and administer 2008/2012/2016 Windows enterprise server and client systems base systems, Exchange/Office 365, Red Hat Linux servers, clustered and disaster recovery solutions
• Design, install and administer DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO’s, SMTP, Wireless; create Powershell to accommodate user-specific configurations and the design of User Profiles to maintain integrity of the desktop environment.
• Install and administer server based applications including Oracle, SQL, Veeam, Data Domain, Trend Micro Anti-Virus, VMware, Groundworks, and SCCM.
• Manage through to resolution any software/hardware implementations, or Help Desk incident tickets.
• Create documentation and train staff; mentor junior and/or less experienced staff through means of cross training and the sharing of information on knowledgeable areas.
• Provide 2nd Line Technical Support on and off hours, acting as an escalation point to junior staff and other departments in alignment with the department’s mandate.
• Participate in after hours and weekend work as required. Travel to the branches in North America as the need arises to participate in project rollouts and technical support.
 Education Requirements:
•  3 or 4 year college or university degree in computer-related field

Must Have Skills/Experience: 
 • Building, securing and managing Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers
• Active Directory management including GPO
• VMware  virtualization
• 8 to 10 years in a System Administrator role with network administration exposure
• Experience working in a multi-branch environment managing a minimum of 40 servers
• Self-motivated, highly organized and capable of operating effectively on both independent tasks and group-related projects
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Positive attitude and solid customer service skills
• Strong time management skills

Nice to Have Skills/Experience: 
 • Conceptual understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Exposure and experience with Oracle RDBMS
•  Wireless access points, wireless handheld and MDM tool
• AWS VPC, S3, EC2 sizing and configuration, CloudFormation and Data Pipeline
• Enterprise storage systems
• Enterprise data backup technology
• WAN acceleration technology
• Weeam and disk to disk backup solutions

•  3 or 4 year college or university degree in computer-related field
