Our Client in the Pensions and Funds Industry is seeking a Technical QA Analyst/Developer for their Downtown Toronto office. This is a 6-12 months contract to start, possible extension 
The Technical QA Analyst/Developer as part of a Product Team will be responsible for planning and executing Quality Assurance test cases for all scope items within the sprints.
Reporting to Manager, Product Delivery, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a technical test plan for the Member Portal modernization project to meet the scope, schedule, quality and budget requirements.

• Review and translate Business Requirement Specifications and Technical Design Documents to build test strategy, test cases, and impact analysis
• Define test objectives, plan test activities to meet objectives, and monitor and track progress to plan
• Identify upstream and downstream dependencies
• Work with Product team to plan sprints and test planning for the modules
• Work with Product team to design, develop, and execute scripts which validate, to a high degree of confidence, test cases defined within the project’s test plan.
• Assess test execution against defined objectives and summarize test results for stakeholders. Schedule/recommends test re-execution if necessary.
• Document test acceptance and apply learnings to improve future testing
• Detect, isolate, and drive defect resolution prior to production release
• Leverage test automation tools to build effective regression and functional testing scripts.
• Contribute to the continual improvement of the testing development lifecycle processes.
• Track and communicate task progress, status, and key performance metrics.
• Report defects found in testing diligently, promptly, and accurately, using standard defect tracking tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud based technologies (e.g. MS Azure, GCP), web development runtimes/frameworks and/or Salesforce is an asset.

Formal Education & Certification
• University degree in the field of Information Technology or equivalent related job experience.
Knowledge & Experience
• 2-5 years direct hands on experience in the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing.
• 3-5 years direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release.
• Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
• Experience and advanced knowledge in SQL and Javascript.
• Experience in testing web applications is a plus
• Knowledge with automated testing tools such as Selenium Web Driver and Java will be an asset.
• Knowledge and experience in IT development projects in pension or insurance management will be an asset.
• Demonstrated experience software development projects in addition to QA and testing.
• Hand on experience in testing Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML, WSDL, etc.) as a plus
• Knowledge and experience in IT development projects in pension or insurance management is a plus
• Unit testing skills (JUnit and JMeter etc.) as a plus.
• Experience working on Agile teams (e.g. Scrum)
