MaxSys is currently looking for a Telecommunications Analyst, Junior for our Federal Client.
Qualifications:
 
Education:
• Secondary school diploma is required
Experience:
• Must clearly demonstrate experience using a variety of off the shelf and customized / developed software applications running in a Microsoft Windows PC-based environment.
• Must clearly demonstrate experience performing first line diagnostics and provide fault rectification and maintenance recommendations on in service audio / visual equipment, peripherals and network devices.
• Must clearly demonstrate the ability to interact with clients, provide system capabilities and limitations, and provide verbal briefs and tutorials at the user level.
• Must clearly demonstrate the ability to lift, carry and position various types of audio/visual equipment, some of which may weigh up to 40Kg, combined with frequent repetitive movements and possess a sense of balance to climb equipment, specifically a ladder. Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license.
• Must clearly demonstrate experience in the electronics field or possess educational certificates to support knowledge.
Duties:
• Set-up and operation of video teleconferencing communications equipment, such as cameras, video screens, control systems, workstations and switches;
• Conduct quality control inspections of video teleconferencing equipment before the start of video teleconferencing operations;
• Maintain conference logs, including online times, technical difficulties, record of any security breaches and perform access control of facilities;
• Coordinate with the office responsible for the video conference bridge and local participants via e-mail for booking of conferences and confirmations;
• Provide clear instruction to local users on the procedures to be followed when conducting a vtc;
• Provide basic troubleshooting for problems that may occur while establishing communications;
• Maintain communications during vtc;
• Install any prepared presentations, i.e. power point, dvd, vhs or ohp, when required; and;
• Install, monitor and maintain public address systems for small to large events in various locations, indoor and outdoor;
• Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair of conference, audio, and other communications assets when required;
• Work may be performed in a workshop or field environment. Departmental assets will be used for transport to various locations throughout the ncr. There is exposure to conflicting priorities, multiple demands, interruptions, tight deadlines, unscheduled tasks and the occasional requirement to respond to emergency situations rapidly;
• The work may be performed in a workshop environment where there is exposure to dirt, grease, noise, fumes, temperature extremes, restricted spaces and daily requirement to wear personal protective equipment;
• There is a requirement to inform supervisor, co-workers and clients of health and safety issues that arise to make them aware of potential dangers and the requirement to observe safety measures so that corrective action can be initiated;
• Requirement for work to be conducted independently or with one to two other team members;
• Stand or sit when conducting maintenance and repair of electronic equipment and systems;
• Occasionally perform equipment maintenance and repair involving standing, bending, stooping and working in cramped and awkward positions where flexibility of movement is limited; 
• Analyze technical information from various sources such as equipment specifications, operating procedures and maintenance history in order to conduct the installation, maintenance and/or repair;
• Possess writing skills to complete forms for materials, prepare minor reports, incident reports, material requisitions, time sheets and technical correspondence;
• Attend / complete mandatory training as required by the department to include whims, workplace harassment training, general safety training;
• Driving duties within the NCR in the completion of service calls; and
• Be in compliance with the federal government policies and guidelines that apply to contracted personnel.
