The IT Asset Management Specialist as a new member of IT Operations team will be pivotal in driving IT Asset Management Practice to a higher maturity level using ServiceNow Tools to introduce Business Service asset CI in additional to Inventory, compliance, budgeting, ops cost optimizing and supporting other ITIL processes. The position will assist in establishing policies and standards, develop/enhance process & procedure, benchmarks & KPIs for IT Asset Management to meet business Needs. This position will be performing a variety of asset management tasks related to the lifecycle of IT Assets and will report to Manager, Operations & Vendor Management.
 
Responsibilities:
• Develop best practices, enhance existing policies, standards, processes & procedures, benchmarks, KPIs for ServiceNow Asset Management to support IT & Business Needs.
• Co-ordinating with in-house ServiceNow Support team, define/refine IT requirements (new CI’s such as Business Service CI, CI attributes, relationships, and processes) to drive ServiceNow Asset & other modules to onboard complex Software Systems into ServiceNow CMDB.
• Lead the use of ServiceNow Discovery tool or lead the integration of 3rd party discovery tool such as Cisco AppDynamics Auto Discovery and Mapping for automating data input, data validation on ServiceNow CMDB.
• Maintain, update, track and report on all IT assets throughout the asset life cycle.  IT Assets include but not limited to Software, Hardware, Licenses, Certificates, IT Contracts & Support info, and associated financial information.
• Operate and maintain a centralized IT asset inventory for use by IT and other stakeholders which accurately identifies and tracks all CIs to include both discoverable and non-discoverable.
• Provide analysis and report to support SW License Compliance Audit, budgeting, procurement opportunities, contract RFQ/negotiations and any cost optimization initiative as required.
• Set up alerts to monitor software assurance, hardware maintenance contract due dates to ensure installed assets are supported and following the planned refresh cycle.
• Co-ordinate with Procurement team to provide analysis and recommendation in support for major/volume IT purchases as required with strong knowledge of licensing models from major vendors such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle and Cisco.
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field
• 8 or more years of experience in Asset Management with at least 3 or more years using ServiceNow
• ITIL® V3 Foundations Certification
• ITAM certification is an asset
• Strong Experience with ServiceNow (SN) Platform:
o CMDB
o Configuration relationships
o Auto discovery & Mapping
o Knowledge of SN reports/Dashboards and Performance Analytics
o Integration of ITAM products with SN such as Microsoft SCCM
• Hardware and Software data quality and analysis skill
• Strong knowledge of vendor product licensing models such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, Cisco, etc.
• Working knowledge of 3rd Party Auto Discovery Tools (such as AppDynamics) integrating with ServiceNow is asset
